So I’ve been back at the gym for the last 3 weeks, and have now got a shin splint!!! Honestly!!!!!
So been hitting up the cross trainer and rower instead…stamina is getting better but still have a way to go I guess.
The way I’m making it sound, its as if I’m training for the Olympics, but honest to god, this 5k run is something I’m not used to doing…if anything I can do 20mins at the most and that’s not even on the roads.
I’ve raised £150 at the moment. The target I said I could reach for Christian Aid was £200 but as I’m so close to that now, I’ve increased it to £350.
Hopefully I know a lot of generous people out there that will help me reach this target.

Every year there is a women’s only run held around Hyde Park in London (5km), in which people can choose a charity to raise money for. For those that thought I couldn’t do it, I’ve signed myself up to do the run, with the chosen charity of Christian Aid.
Christian Aid is an organisation that dedicates its time to helping those in the developing world that are in need of assistance for basic needs such as food, shelter, education, and more, regardless of race or religion…things that we often take for granted or forget about.
We live in a world where the rich just get richer and often forget about the poor who just get poorer, so I would really appreciate it if you could spare a few pennies or pounds to help support the cause.
Go on…be kind, and sponsor me:

Your donations will really make a difference and be greatly appreciated by those that need it.

So I just registered to do the The 2006 Hydro Active Women’s Challenge for this 3rd September 2006!!!!
I will be receiving the race number and details through the post come August, so cannot wait. Should be interesting as I’ve been kinda slack with exercise over the last few weeks, so this is an incentive to get down and do it!!!
I’ve chosen Christian Aid as my charity to run for…anyone that know’s me, knows my thoughts on world poverty, so thought this was a righteous choice! Stay tuned for a donation page coming your way soon…in the mean time I have to get the ol’ trainers and stuff together!!!

So I’ve been going on and on for ages about doing yoga, but its always been the case that whenever there’s a class at my local gym its always when I’m either at work or on the commute home. I could have booked myself on a class in town, but would rather be driving distance from the class than have to commute back after.
So…the wonderous people that are Flex Lifestyles have booked in the contortionist yogi David Sye to do a 6 week course starting this Monday. Attended a free class on Sunday, and wasn’t very flexible at all, but compared to the crazy postures David was doing, I’m not surprised I was paranoid. To be honest I didn’t feel as though I’d done anything UNTIL the following day when I was aching all over…GOOD STUFF!!!
I can see why its such a craze, and can’t wait to get into it properly…before you know it…I’ll be giving the likes of Madonna and Sting a run for their money…hahaha!
