New York, New York!

Filed under: General — caroline @ 11:53 pm

After months of faffing around trying to book a holiday, we’ve booked a flight to NYC…for the week of their Independence Day!!!

Cannot wait. I’ve been to NY twice before, but have only ever stayed for 3-4 days at the most so 8 days there should be good fun!

Will be going with 2 of my best friends, who haven’t been before so that should be cool too!

Any suggestions on cheap abodes? Hotels would be nice but would cost a bomb…so looking for somewhere which is kind on the pocket, but doesn’t result in a dirty little room and grotty shower!

LoveMusicHateRacism

A friend of mine is performing at the LoveMusicHateRacism event next Saturday 29th April.

Its at Trafalgar Square in London, and its free, so a great reason to go down.  Lots of good acts, and a worthwhile cause.

See you there!

Hydro Active Women's Challenge

So I just registered to do the The 2006 Hydro Active Women’s Challenge for this 3rd September 2006!!!!

I will be receiving the race number and details through the post come August, so cannot wait. Should be interesting as I’ve been kinda slack with exercise over the last few weeks, so this is an incentive to get down and do it!!!

I’ve chosen Christian Aid as my charity to run for…anyone that know’s me, knows my thoughts on world poverty, so thought this was a righteous choice! Stay tuned for a donation page coming your way soon…in the mean time I have to get the ol’ trainers and stuff together!!!

Does Google love you?

Attended a conference today with Google Consultant Steve Johnston, SEO extraordinaire!

Long gone are the days of Keyword obsession in meta tags, its all about separating content, from layout, from behaviour, labelling images, links, and ensuring the content you have is meaningful to both the user and googlebots themselves!

Mean anything to you? Made a lot of sense to me! Accessibility, web standards, meaningful copy, it all ties in together!

Steve has a Google ebook which I was lucky to get a copy of at the event, but I would highly recommend you obtaining from his site. Very concise, informative, and reassuring!
